Ikuno Ohata

Ikuno Ohata was born in 1973 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She studied oil painting at Western Wyoming Community College in the US. Her activities range from the creation of picture books, exhibitions, illustrations and live painting events. “Sora no oppai” (Milk from the Sky), a picture book with a text written by Kōji Suzuki, published by Nōbunkyō in 2008, was selected for the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava in 2011. She is the author and illustrator of the following picture book: “Kai no naru ki” (The Shell Tree) published in 2006 by Henshū Kobō Kū and “Hana no machi” (Flower Town) published by Hakusensha in 2008.
