Igor Piačka

Igor Piačka was born in 1962 in Třebíč, Czech Republic. After studying graphic art and illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (prof.
A. Brunovský), he continued with his studies at the Academie Royale des Beaux Arts in Brussels. He was Assistant Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, heading a Figural Drawing course. Igor creates paintings, graphic arts, drawings and illustrations. Up till now he has realized more than fifty individual exhibits and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. He has won approximately thirty awards in Slovakia and abroad for Fine Arts. He is now more concentrated on his paintings and graphic art but he has also illustrated a great number of children’s books such as: Dimitrijev, J. (text), Zachránili husi Rím?
