Dávid Ursiny

Dávid Ursiny was born in 1978 in Bratislava, Slovakia. He studied illustration (prof. Dušan Kállay) at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. His first illustrated book was "Bhagavadgita", published by Petrus in 2004. This first experience as ‘commentator’ of the text strongly influenced his thoughts on art. He was one of eight artists that took part in the illustrated Arabian Nights project published by Ikar in collaboration with Euromedia (Czech Republic). He has also illustrated a collection of Slovak fairy tales and a three language edition of N. Roerich’s poems, "Flame in Chalice". Currently he is working on the illustrations for a collection of Christmas fairy tales written by František Kožík. Dávid draws insight from medieval paintings and oriental art. Watercolor and collage are two examples of the ‘mimimum media’ that he uses to express himself more freely. Web designing and animation are also part of his activities.

The following works are a sample of the artist's work.
